Endometriosis Association
The Endometriosis
Association is an independent self-help organization of women with
endometriosis, doctors, and others interested in the disease, and a
recognized authority in its field. Its goal is to find a cure for the
disease as well as to provide education, support, and research.
As part of its research program, the Association funds
research into the causes of endometriosis, including a special program at
Dartmouth Medical School, and has funded and assisted a number of
researchers throughout the world. It also maintains a data research
registry and continues study of the relationship between dioxin and
endometriosis, a relationship the Association discovered.
The Endometriosis Foundation has a network of chapters, groups,
sponsors, and women with endometriosis in 66 countries throughout the world.
Its educational materials are available in 28 different languages, and
provide invaluable information and guidance to help enable women with
endometriosis and their familes to make informed
decisions about their health needs.
The attorneys of Hurtado, S.C. have provided pro-bono legal services to
the Endometriosis Association, including advice regarding its
not-for-profit organizational structure, and participating fund-raising
activities, as well as service on its Board of directors.
